Jericho ist eine palästinensische Stadt im Westjordanland und eine der ältesten lebenden Städte der Welt sowie die Stadt mit der ältesten bekannten Schutzmauer der Welt. Es könnte auf das Jahr 9000 v. Chr. zurückgehen.
Die palästinensische Hamas griff Israel am 7. Oktober 2023 von Gaza aus an und tötete und nahm 1200 israelische Bürger und Ausländer gefangen. Israel rächte sich und tötete viele tausend palästinensische Zivilisten und Kämpfer. Gaza wurde fast vollständig zerstört. Bis auf Weiteres ist es NICHT sicher oder empfehlenswert, nach Israel oder Palästina zu reisen.
