Israël is een westers land in het Midden-Oosten, officieel opgericht in 1947. Aan de ene kant is er innovatie en tonnen startups (Tel Aviv). Aan de andere kant is het de afgelopen bijna 2000 jaar het centrum geweest van joodse, islamitische en christelijke religies, met feesten en gevechten. Jezus Christus leefde en stierf in steden als Bethlehem, Nazareth en Jeruzalem. Jeruzalem als hoofdstad is zeer omstreden tussen Israël en Palestina.
De Palestijnse Hamas viel Israël aan vanuit Gaza op 7-10-2023 en doodde en nam 1200 Israëlische burgers en buitenlanders gevangen. Israël nam wraak en doodde vele duizenden Palestijnse burgers en strijders. Gaza werd bijna volledig verwoest. Het is NIET veilig of aanbevolen om tot nader order naar Israël of Palestina te reizen.

Jeruzalem (41)
Jeruzalem is het religieuze centrum voor joden, christenen en moslims. Het heeft veel plekken om te bezoeken, ga terug in de tijd en bid. Zowel Israël als Palestina beschouwen Jeruzalem als hun hoofdstad. Houd er rekening mee dat het vanwege grensgeschillen ook gewelddadig kan zijn.
Tel Aviv (35)
Tel Aviv is het economische hart van Israël met een grote luchthaven en haven. De meeste landen hebben hier hun ambassade of consulaat.
Bethlehem (33)
Bethlehem is de geboorteplaats van Jezus Christus en daarom een zeer belangrijke stad in het christendom. Kerst is hier een drukke tijd. Bethlehem ligt in Palestina.
Haifa (21)
Haifa is een noordelijke Israëlische haven. Toeristen willen misschien de aangelegde terrassen van de Baha'i-tuinen bezoeken.
Jericho (18)
Jericho is een Palestijnse stad op de Westelijke Jordaanoever en een van de oudste levende steden ter wereld en de stad met de oudst bekende beschermende muur ter wereld. Het dateert mogelijk uit het jaar 9000 voor Christus.
Dead Sea (11)
De dode zee is het laagste landpunt op aarde. Het water is extreem zout, er leeft hier niets en drijven is het gemakkelijkste om te doen.
Eilat
Eilat is een Zuid-Israëlische haven- en badplaats aan de Rode Zee, in de buurt van Jordanië. De stranden staan bekend om hun kalme wateren, snorkelen en duiken,
