Travel between South Africa & Zimbabwe.

Visit destinations like Johannesburg, Cape Town, Kruger National Park (South Africa) & Victoria Falls, Matobo National Park, Bulawayo (Zimbabwe).

South Africa
South-Africa is an unusual country for many reasons. It is a large country with different groups of people where 100 languages are spoken. For many years the small minority of whites ruled the country, owned the land and spoke their own language: Afrikaans. This variety explains the flag, a rainbow representing everyone.

South-Africa is one of the economic powerhouses of Africa and offers a lot of nature (safaris). It is rich because of its people and its resources (e.g. mining). Located between two oceans opens up a lot of new sea-opportunities like diving with sharks.

Zimbabwe
A combination of dramatic landscapes, lots of Wildlife & Safaris and Victoria Falls. Zimbabwe in South-East Africa has a lot to see and do, but there is also poverty and a not-so-good functioning country due to politics.

Below are our most visited cities, destinations and national parks in South Africa. Click on the city for more details of the destination.

Cape Town

Cape Town (51)

Capetown ("Kaapstad" in Afrikaans) is one of the most beautiful major cities in the world. It is the meeting point for two oceans with mountains and a natural harbor. Thanks to its nature many migrants moved there and movies were recorded there. Activities may include surfing, fishing, shark watching (!) or just walking and enjoying. Note that the area also produces good wines...

Johannesburg

Johannesburg (40)

Johannesburg is the largest city and economic heart of South-Africa. People are starting to make it a "friendlier" city, away from the bad name of robbers and thieves. You still need to be careful, but a city tour to see the old and new Joburg is certainly worthwhile. Buying diamants? De Beers has its HQ here. Politics? Visit So-We-To (South-West Township) where Nelson Mandela lived.

Kruger National Park

Kruger National Park (39)

The Kruger National Park is one of the largest game reserves in the world. The big five and many other animals have their home here. The location north-east of Johannesburg makes it an easy destination.

Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch (15)

Stellenbosch is a wine area close to Capetown. It is named after its Dutch founder Simon van der Stel.

Blyde River Canyon

Blyde River Canyon (12)

Blyde River Canyon (Dutch: "happy river canyon") is one of the largest and certainly greenest canyons on Earth.

Drakensberg

Drakensberg (5)

The Drakensberg ("Dragons Mountain") escarpment is a mountain range in Eastern South Africa that includes features such as the Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, and God's Window.

Bloemfontein

Bloemfontein

Bloemfontein (Dutch: "Flower Fountain") is one of the three capitals of South-Africa and a major city. This could be a major connection or a stop for wine-drinking or ostrich riding.

Durban

Durban

Durban is the 3rd largest city and the busiest port in South-Africa. Durban is a ethnically diverse city, with large Zulu, White, and Indian/Asian populations.
